CAPTION: DENIED BAIL
Magistrate Nelao Ya France yesterday denied bail to Tomas Sheya (33), who stands accused of murdering his two young children in one of the most disturbing cases to reach the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court this year. Sheya faces two counts of murder after allegedly twisting the necks of his son, Andreas (2), and daughter, Ruusa (4), at Onkani village in Omuntele constituency on Sunday night. The case was postponed to 23 March 2026 pending postmortem results and further investigations. Sheya allegedly confessed in chilling text messages to family members and the children’s mother, directing them to the bodies near the Nameya water point. He later surrendered himself to police at Okatope. Prosecutor Justine Shiweda strongly opposed bail.
