HEROES DAY: Namibia commemorated Heroes Day 2025 at Katima Mulilo on Tuesday. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and several Cabinet ministers, traditional authorities and the diplomatic community members attended the event. Nandi-Ndaitwah's message was about peaceful conflict resolution, and loving one another. The President raised concerns with the state of the family unit, saying people are angry. She warned that Namibia remains a divided nation, noting that without unity and a change in outlook, the country may head for troubled times.
“Yet it troubles me greatly to see so much division, not only in our political and justice institutions but also within families, communities, and traditional structures. We must rise above this and work together for a better future,” she said. The event also saw performances by several traditional groups. Photos: State House
