CULTURE CELEBRATED: The third edition of the Nongozi Annual Cultural Expo took place last week at Judea Lyaboloma in the Zambezi Region, under the theme 'Striving for Rural Development Through Community Empowerment'. At the opening of the event, deputy environment, forestry and tourism minister Heather Sibungo highlighted the importance of farming for generaing an income and boosting food security in many countries, including Namibia.

“A platform that allows communities to trade goods and services can help improve living standards by providing access to essential products,” she said.

Sibungo also encouraged elders to pass down traditional knowledge, such as wood carving, traditional crafting tools and making mats and other items from natural resources.
