Ultimate Safaris opens computer laboratory at Khorixas school
Ultimate Safaris, through its Conservation Travel Foundation, officially handed over a fully equipped computer laboratory to the Th. F. !Gaeb Primary School in Khorixas recently.
The new lab, consisting of eight computers, aims to enhance digital literacy and prepare learners for future opportunities, particularly in the tourism sector.
The school principal, Priskilla Kabajani, expressed her gratitude, noting the donation's transformative impact.
“This will significantly enhance our learners access to technology, allowing them to develop essential digital skills, engage in innovative projects, and explore new opportunities in their academic journey,” Kabajani said.
Supporting grassroots education
Ultimate Safaris said the initiative aligns with their broader mission to support grassroots education and create a sustainable pipeline for Namibia’s tourism workforce.
"Computer literacy is a fundamental skill in tourism management," a company representative said. "We are committed to equipping capable young Namibians from rural areas with the tools they need to participate meaningfully in this vital industry."
This marks the second such donation by the company, following the successful setup of a similar lab at Grootberg Primary School in Erwee, near Kamanjab.
Notably, two learners from Grootberg have since earned scholarships to attend the prestigious Windhoek Gymnasium High School..
