EDITORIAL: Find the beef gossipmongers
Allegations that some faceless, treasonous cowards are spreading lies about Namibian beef exported to Ghana must be investigated, and those behind the malicious lies unmasked.
Farmers north of the red line are already fighting for their lives, literally, because the political hand won't let their meat pass the veterinary cordon fence southwards.
They were shown an impolite finger and told where to get off when they knocked at the doors of national offices, seeking to export – or just transport – their beef across the Werda, Oshivelo and Mururani veterinary gates.
They were told to find markets elsewhere and when Meatco obliged and secured Ghana as a destination, the campaign to annihilate these farmers continued unabated.
The faceless cowards – and we couldn’t care less what their skin colour is – allegedly fed the Ghanaian authorities with a concoction of malicious lies that beef exported from the northern communal areas (NCAs) is contaminated with foot-and-mouth disease (FMD).
This is a war being waged against communities in eight of the country’s 14 regions – designed to ensure their eternal suffering and eventual obliteration.
We understood when these baseless lies were being professed as truth in order to prevent this meat from crossing the red line – obviously to protect the market share from genuine competition.
But to traverse Africa’s thick forests and reptile-infested rivers to deliver a package of lies to Ghanaian authorities is an act of war against eight regions of the country.
