Weather Forecast: Windhoek
Windhoek is in the peak of its summer rainfall season, with forecasters warning of typical interior weather patterns in the coming days. Residents and visitors can expect warm conditions, followed by isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms and moderate breezes.
Weather systems moving in from the south are expected to track west to east across parts of the country.
February is historically Windhoek’s wettest month, and today’s forecast is in line with that pattern, with a high likelihood of afternoon thundershowers.
Forecasters indicate a 75% to 85% chance of rain, with between 7 mm and 14 mm in isolated areas in the capital city.
Despite the welcome rain, the Namibia Meteorological Service (NMS) has warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in the interior could lead to flash floods, urging motorists to carefully navigate dry riverbeds.
