UNAM Gets Green Light for New Walvis Bay Campus
The University of Namibia's (Unam's) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kenneth Matengu has announced that the university has received the green light to establish a new campus in Walvis Bay, with a focus on marine-related fields of study.
Speaking during the UNAM Spring Graduation ceremony at the Mercure Hotel in Windhoek today, Matengu said he received the confirmation from the Municipality of Walvis Bay yesterday.
“I received the green light call yesterday about building the University of Namibia campus in Walvis Bay,” Matengu said.
The new campus is expected to strengthen UNAM’s focus on marine-related education and create further opportunities for students pursuing studies in the field.
