Forex trader Joseph Martin “Namcash” Nghishihange denied killing his five-year-old daughter, Mia, when he testified during his bail application in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

“I am not the one who caused the death of my child and I have no reason to cause the death of my daughter,” he told the court.

Nghishihange also denied assaulting Mia and said his detention had stopped his business, leaving him struggling to pay legal fees. He offered to surrender his passport and comply with bail conditions.

The State opposed his release, citing the seriousness of the charges, possible interference with witnesses and the risk of him absconding.

Magistrate Nelao Nangula Ya France postponed the hearing to 22 October for cross-examination. Nghishihange remains in custody.
