Former deputy health minister Esther Muinjangue paid a courtesy visit to deputy health minister Hambelela Suzan Ndjaleka in Windhoek on Monday, where they discussed strengthening primary health care, staffing and tackling non-communicable diseases.

The visit was also aimed at promoting continuity in leadership and sharing institutional knowledge.

Ndjaleka welcomed the engagement, saying the experience of former leaders remains valuable in addressing challenges within the health sector.

"It is always encouraging to receive guidance and reflections from those who have walked this path before us. The health of our people remains a national priority, and we are committed to building on the foundation that has been laid," she said.

Muinjangue congratulated Ndjaleka on her appointment and commended the ministry's efforts to improve service delivery, maternal and child healthcare, and the implementation of health programmes nationwide.

She emphasised the importance of teamwork, innovation and community involvement in achieving universal health coverage.

"We all serve one purpose- the well-being of Namibians," Muinjangue said.

The two leaders also called for continued collaboration between current and former health officials to strengthen Namibia's healthcare system in line with Vision 2030.
