Breaking news: Eenhana vendors demand permanent market
Street vendors and small-business owners in Eenhana have appealed to Ohangwena governor Kadiva Hamutumwa to intervene over their proposed relocation to a temporary market.
In a petition handed over on Tuesday the traders demand a permanent, properly serviced open market and meaningful consultation before any move.
The vendors say any relocation must include a clear transition plan ensuring nobody is left without a viable place to trade.
Receiving the petition Hamutumwa said she will be meeting with Eenhana town council as part of consultations.
