What's Namibia famous for?

Switzerland is famous for its cheeses, chocolates and watches. America is famous for, among many things, its cheeseburgers and Hollywood movies. Germany is famous for its beer and the English are known for their soccer league, amongst other things. The above is evidence that no nation on earth is known to be good at everything. Throughout the world, it is somewhat of a status symbol to have a Swiss watch, a German car or simply announcing the fact that you are going to Mauritius for a holiday. Clever nations have commercialised what they are famous for and are making a killing in terms of generating revenue and improving lives for their citizens. Namibia too must identify what she is famous for in the eyes of the world and develop a strategy to maximise the benefits. In Germany, the development of their beer industry into arguably the best in the world was no walk in the park. It is a product of the struggle for political and economic power between the church and the State, and between the common people and the aristocrats. Monks, lords, merchants, and guilds had to put their egos aside and - in the name of developing what they are known for as a country. They determined which beers were to be brewed and distributed, where, in which quantity and of which quality. Namibia must study her own situation and create a hub for whatever product or service is identified as the one that will make us famous. If it is our tourist attraction sites, let's agree to develop and market them - and aggressively so - on international platforms. Our diamonds, for example, are known to be of the highest quality, but this is heard in whispers rather than through robust campaign and marketing drives. Right now we are a nation that tries its hand on almost everything. We start a new project before proving success in the previous one. And this makes it hard to evaluate ourselves and determine what 'our thing' is, as Namibians. It's difficult for a Namibian today to tell a foreign friend what his country is most famous for. And if he is witty enough to pull that one off, he would have difficulties explaining how we as a country are capitalising on that to liberate ourselves from the yoke of poverty and underdevelopment. We must therefore go back to the drawing board and strongly brainstorm on the matters like this. Industrialisation is what every nation strives for these days and Namibia too must claim her place in the future of the world.
