What to expect at this year's Spring Fiesta
Here is how the sixth edition of the annual Windhoek Spring Fiesta promises more fun and a great party.
Gone are the days of having to drive 20km to Umti Lodge where party lovers dress in all-white to have the time of their life. For the past few years, the well-known and highly-anticipated Windhoek Spring Fiesta (WSF) has been lauded for being 100% Namibian and providing the absolute best entertainment.
This year the organisers switched up a couple of things, including a new venue, as the highlight of the changes made. Jose Mathews told tjil that just like the previous years, security is going to be tight.
“This year we changed the venue to The Hills which is quite prominent as a chill place and it's close to Windhoek. We are anticipating a bigger crowd and we want to accommodate them all,” he said.
Although parking is difficult to obtain at the new location, the organisers have taken that into consideration and will be providing buses to transport party goers to the venue, a few kilometres from where cars are parked. “We have introduced a park and ride system from a safe facility where cars will be parked and people can take one of the many buses. Security will be provided and the police will also be present so party goers can rest assured that their vehicles are protected,” Mathews said. Another new addition is the variety of entertainment to be provided. The organisers, Doctatainment, firmly believe in local talent.
“We added Chikune for the Afro-pop touch to the usual hip-hop based line up. We also added Lioness to the mix for all the rap lovers, who will perform alongside Jaleel, who is not new to the WSF,” Mathews said.
Tickets are N$100 for general and N$800 for VIP through the Pay Pulse app. Until tomorrow, tickets purchased through the app will be sold at 50% discount. In total, there will be 12 performing artists and 25 performing DJs. Gates open at 10:00 until late and the party will be stirred by NSK and Jane as the MCs. Wear white.
