We will respond next year - Matheus
Namibia Sports Commission (NSC) chairperson Joel Matheus says there won't be any response from the chief administrator and himself until January, regarding claims that they are running the sport's umbrella body like their own households.
Matheus was speaking to Namibian Sun after five sports commissioners - Erica Beukes, Adelheid Jacobs, Monica Shapwa, Benjamin Rebang and Peter Wilson - wrote a lengthy letter this past Friday, accusing NSC chief administrator Freddy Mwiya and Matheus of running the commission the way they see fit.
The commissioners also claimed funds were being mismanaged and that Mwiya was earning a salary that the board did not approve.
They also backed former colleague Jesse Schickerling, who resigned due to unhappiness at the commission. “I'm on holiday with my family now. I don't have access to newspapers and have little knowledge about what is going on, but there will be a response next year,” Matheus said.
