Walvis Bay Drags

The event titled ‘Race Wars’ will host a number of drivers from South Africa. Two weeks ago South African racers came to compete in Okahandja and the town was filled with motor enthusiasts from all over Namibia and South Africa. Within the motoring world in Namibia so much politics comes into play. Although we saw one of the fastest Namibian racers, Dewaal Theunissen annihilate the Namibian drag record in his Toyota Levin, quite a few racers intentionally didn’t come to the event. Which is a pity, because it should be about the cars, the race, the smell and the event. This weekend the crowd numbers will be exceptionally high because of the growing number of drag racers that have promised to attend. As usual, most took their battles to social media and have made it public about their intention to have bragging rights after this weekend’s events. Race Wars will be taking place in Walvis Bay, Union Street. The gates open at 09:00. Adults will pay N$100 while children under 12 pay N$20 to enter the event. Registration will open tomorrow night.
