Courage and true networking start with showing up and letting oneself be seen. In September the My Zone team met with Stembiso Dabula, SRC president of University of the Witwatersrand, the SRC president for the University of Pretoria, Lerato Ndlovu, Hilma Nalupe, a Namibian University of Science and Technology SRC, and Mynie-Jean Beukes, an SRC from the University of Namibia. This meeting was the ultimate intertwining of skills, passion and knowledge. The students and the My Zone team shared relevant information and news from other institutions. This meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration between the different universities, as this initiative is to be of great value to the audience of students and readers both here and in RSA. The meeting highlighted having media student organisations or Namibian societies on stories and initiatives running at the respective campuses. This collaboration was about connecting people with people, people with ideas, and people with opportunities and finally to help My Zone provide a bigger and better platform to reflect as a voice for those who have stories to share.
