Have you ever gone to your favourite entertainment event where you paid heftily to be a VIP but didn't get the treatment? Well this and a whole lot more, is about to change in the local entertainment industry. A first for Namibia, V Lifestyle - under Olive Entertainment Events - whose slogan is 'party in style' has switched up events planning by going the extra mile… which is to include everyone.

The V Lifestyle organisation is about bringing personalities from around Africa to Namibia for their fans to engage and meet them on a personal basis. Speaking to organiser and artist Himba Boi, he said the event is to ensure that these personalities mingle with the people that adore them in Namibia.

“Usually when celebrities come to Namibia, it's only the media who meet and engage with them face-to-face. Their fans only get to meet them for a few seconds and after that they go back to their hotel rooms, which is not really fair,” he said.

The idea is for fans to come to a common area, in this case the mansion, and be able to sit down and have a conversation, take pictures and party with these personalities.

Everyone who purchases a ticket will be a VIP for the night, regardless of status. The personalities' role is to simply party and have fun with their fans.

Another organiser Julia Bosslady said this platform will give the fans and entrepreneurs an opportunity to market their products to these celebrities, who could potentially expose local brands to their large fan base and put Namibia in the spotlight. The platform is also for local events organisers to come and scout the next clients to host at their events.

“I have been in the industry for many years and I have had people willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money just to take pictures with celebrities. These people want to do this after having paid an entrance fee already.

“So this is something very important to these fans and a simple picture with their role models can have a lot of meaning, hence the initiative,” said Julia Bosslady.

The first personality is Boity Thulo from South Africa and she will be coming to Windhoek in August. Boity, who has never been to Namibia, is excited to party with her fans and is looking forward to the experience.

The venue and ticket prices are yet to be set but they will be announced in due course.
