Two pedestrians hit, killed

At least two people were struck by vehicles in two separate incidents last weekend. Both victims died.
According to the latest police report, the first incident occurred early on Friday in the Otjinoko village near Otjinene.
Fares Kanguatjivi (50), who was under the influence of alcohol, is alleged to have fallen asleep in the middle of the road when he was run over. He died immediately.
The second incident occurred in Rehoboth on the same day. Duraan Strauss (21) is said to have run in front of a truck that drove through the town at around 19:00. The truck was heading south.
“The truck driver tried to avoid the accident, but another truck was coming from front and hit deceased,” the police said.
Strauss died immediately.
