Turastyle hits Urban Legend store
Turastyle Clothing is set to become a force in the local retail industry, after becoming the first and only local brand to sell their merchandise in Urban Legend, situated in the Post Street Mall.
The range is owned by local musician and entrepreneur Strauss Lunyangwe, also known as Mr Makoya.
According to Mr Makoya, Turastyle Clothing has built quite a big following over the years.
He therefore challenged retailers to give local brands a chance to showcase and sell their products in ‘Proudly Namibian’ shops.
Owner of Urban Legend, Melvin Hosea Angula, said when Turastyle Clothing approached his store, they welcomed it.
“This empowers our young businessmen and women to strive toward creating and maintaining international standard products. This will also help them prepare better for when season’s change and what to prepare for their clients,†he said.
Mr Makoya believes that if teamed up with the right local retailer, local brands such as Turastyle Clothing could compete with many international brands.
Turastyle’s new merchandise includes a newly designed T-shirt range, polo shirts and baseball caps. The merchandise will be available from today.
Mr Makoya is also set to drop he’s follow-up album titled ‘Bly In Jou Baan’, which will be in stores on or about November 26. He recently released a new single titled ‘Understand’, featuring Peppie and Adora. The song is his first slow ballad and speaks of couples trying to make it work under modern pressures. He promises that “once you’ve listened to the song, it will change the way you communicate with your loved oneâ€.
