Katutura Sports Union (Kasu) chairperson Kuveri Tjonga has heaped praise on all the teams that participated in the union’s Dream Cup.

This after Kasu successfully hosted the tournament Okovimburu FC won after defeating Herero Mall 3-1 in the final played on Saturday afternoon at the Moses Van Der Byl Primary School sports field.

“I would like to thank all the teams that took part in this competition because it was them who made it a huge success.

“I also have to thank those who were part of helping me organise this competition.

“The quality of football was immense given that each team came there with the aim of winning,” Tjonga noted.

Tourney attracts NPFL players

The tournament not only attracted spectators from the heart of Katutura, but some premiere league players were also seen in action.

The likes of Pejavi Hengari and former African Stars Chris Katjiukua formed part of those players who have tasted premiere league football before.

“What can they do? They will be forced to come and play here because there is no league football for now in the country.

“As spectators, we actually enjoyed watching the players do their thing at the local level,” a spectator said.
