Tight competition in national bowling league

Rossmund continued their winning streak after beating their coastal rivals Namib Park in Walvis Bay on Saturday (13-12) and again in Swakopmund on Sunday (22-14). Title contenders TransNamib kept their hopes alive with a narrow win over Eros (13-12), but suffered a defeat to minnows Windhoek Bowling Club (8-20). The title race in the Men’s Division of the National League is heating up, with Rossmund, Tsumeb and TransNamib all level on points with only four games remaining. In the Women’s Division the ladies from Eros stood their ground to defend their lead on the log. On Saturday they beat TransNamib (27-16) and on Sunday they beat Windhoek Country Club (17-15). The Rossmund ladies had a bad weekend on the green. They started the weekend with an away game to Namib Park going down (29-12), and also failed to make a success of playing at home when they again lost on Sunday (24-6). Rossmund remains second on the log with Windhoek Country Club taking up the third spot. In the mixed division Windhoek Country Club toppled TransNamib from the leading position after wins over Windhoek Bowling Club (13-12) and Eros (28-9). TransNamib and Rossmund are tied on points in second and third positions after round 10. TransNamib lost their first game against Eros on Saturday (13-19) and won against Windhoek Bowling Club on Sunday (28-5). Rossmund had a more convincing weekend winning both games home and away against Namib Park (20-9) and (19-18). Action this coming weekend will see team meeting at the Eros Bowling Club in Windhoek on Saturday and Sunday League. Round 11 of the national league will be played on July 25 and 26.
