There are still many games to play: Williams

Windhoek Draught Welwitschias coach John Williams says there are several games remaining before the team bows out of the competition.
The team is yet to record a win in the Currie Cup qualifiers but according to Williams it is not just about a win for them but about the experience gained.
The team is scheduled to play 14 games in the series and will face the SWD Eagles at 15:00 tomorrow at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek. It will be their 10th match in the competition.
“We still have a lot of games left, so we are slowly building on the momentum and we just need to be patient because it is a lesson,” the coach said.
He said because the top players are competing in the World Rugby Nations Cup in Romania, the remaining team has some inexperienced players.
“Our main aim has always been to get these players some high-level playing but they just need to train a bit and get used to the competition structure,” he said.
He said everybody is talking about a win but it is rather about the development of the players and getting them ready to step up to the next stage.
“I think we know what we want to achieve and everybody is positive and wants to do well and due to other players being away you can say that the players are getting used to the competition,” he said.
He said being in the South African competition is always going to be a challenge for the Namibians because their opponents are professional players.
“We expect a hard fight but we are up for it and week after week we take it one at a time.”
He called on rugby fans to fill the stadium this weekend to support their team.
