WINDHOEKDENVER ISAACSPeople driving around Windhoek may have noticed a number of new and imposing features around town - outdoor advertising company Primedia's new LED-screen billboards.The company says it has invested N$45 million since entering the Namibian market in 1989.The new billboards have been erected at four spots in Windhoek - at Ausspannplatz, Avis, Katutura and in front of Wernhil Park.&quot;The screens have been put through stringent tests to withstand harsh conditions. They are high-resolution, high-quality screens projecting impactful displays and the unique design of the structures allows them to stand above the clutter,&quot; Primedia Outdoor Namibia managing director Eduard Mouton said at the launch yesterday.The Namibian company is a division of the international company Primedia Africa.Other notable feature of the LED billboards is their remote-controlled flighting, meaning the company can do real-time updates, while the technology is said to use 75% less power than cheaper screens.The billboards measure four metres by eight metres.&quot;We really have chosen the best in the world. We are making this technology available in Windhoek, and with in-house spares should things go wrong,&quot; Mouton added.He said the company has more than 620 advertising structures in cities and rural areas in seven African countries.
