Swartz joins boxing stable
Power-Power Development and Boxing Academy has a new addition to its line-up.
Former professional boxer Hiskia Swartz has joined Power-Power Development and Boxing Academy, the stable has announced.
Swartz will serve as head coach and will be responsible for the development of boxers.
Born in Windhoek in 1962, Swartz pursued boxing as a career and had international and local fights during his amateur and professional boxing days.
Swartz left for the United States of America in 1987 where he went to pursue his education and a boxing career before returning to Namibia.
Power-Power Development and Boxing Academy promoter Risto Ashikoto said Swartz is a valuable addition to the academy.
“We are happy to announce that Swartz has joined this academy and we believe he will add value towards it.
“He is a gentleman who knows much about boxing and that is why we know he will come with a wealth of experience,” Ashikoto said.
The academy, which held its first boxing tournament last November, has been itching to create boxing champions.
Ashikoto and partner Paulus Ambunda started the academy in 2016, but it remained dormant for some time because they joined other academies to gain experience.
