Suspects nabbed with N$2m worth of cocaine
Two adults, a 43-year-old Congolese male and an Angolan woman, 47, were arrested yesterday morning at the corner of Daan Viljoen and Otjomuise roads. According to the police, at about 06:00, 4.1 kg of cocaine, valued at N$2 million, was seized from the two suspects. The police say it is alleged that the suspects’ vehicle a Toyota Corolla, N35540W, skipped a red robot and hit another Corolla, a taxi. The police say that after hitting the taxi, the male suspect grabbed a bag from his vehicle and tried to flee the scene but the taxi driver caught him and held him back. The police were called and upon their arrival they found a bag of four blocks of suspected cocaine in the suspects’ vehicle. The Congolese male is married to a Namibian female and they were both arrested and are in police custody. They are expected to appear in court soon and police investigation continues.
