The MTC Nestor Sunshine leadership has expressed appreciation toward MTC’s continued support for the academy after the telecommunications company gave generous sponsorship to the academy as well as other codes in the country.
Boxing promoter Nestor Tobias is humbled by MTC’s gesture to continue supporting the Nestor Sunshine Academy, thus the club receiving an N$2.75 million which is N$8.25 million over three years from the share of the historic N$67.8 multi-million dollar sponsorship.
“We have produced world class performers over the years and will continue to do so. We also welcome the renewal of our contract for other three years after a successful partnership with MTC for the last eight years.
“If you look at top promoters like Don King and Bob Arum, they have been in partnership with HBO for over 40 years because they continue creating value for the HBO brand and our desire is to continue doing the same by earning our association with MTC and repaying it with professionalism, world titles, best-organised events and excellent branding opportunities for our sponsor,” Tobias said.
Tobias added that his academy has staged over 200 successful tournaments with MTC and that it is something they are extremely proud of.
“I would like to thank my entire team, coaches, administrative staff, matchmakers and promoters for their support and dedication. We want to assure Namibian boxing that we are ready to work with any boxer and promoter and this sponsorship will be in the interest of every Namibian boxer willing to work with us,” he said.
Furthermore, Tobias requested all promoters to submit the names of their boxers and records so that they can always be considered for fights.
