Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi says his team are looking to immediately bounce back after their first defeat of the season to AmaZulu in a DStv Premiership clash on Monday.

Sundowns suffered a 1-0 defeat thanks to an Augustine Mulenga strike at the Jonsson Kings Park Stadium to end a 17-match unbeaten run.

"We have a responsibility to try and make sure we always represent the club with lots of dignity and honour and we give our best shot and that’s why we always try our best not to lose many matches," Mngqithi said post-match.

"I’m sure the players are hurting, the changing room is not the same because we are not used to losing matches, not even a friendly match for that matter. We always go all out, even during training we are a team that always wants to win everything from a training session up until the match.

"Now that we've lost maybe it will have some positive spin-off where that danger of losing the match might give us a little bit more impetuous to go into the next match and put up a little bit more of a fight."

The Brazilians are set to host Marumo Gallants next in their next DStv Premiership match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Thursday before the end of year break.
