The recently re-launched Strand Hotel Swakopmund now boasts among the fastest, most reliable internet experiences for visitors, according to the company, following its partnering with systems integration company Dimension Data (DD).Having recently completed installation and deployment at the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group facility, DD MD Rowan Kleintjes explained the requirements presented to them as presenting a scalable, cost-effective solution, while offering stable connections and consistent performance.“Strand Hotel Swakopmund wanted to ensure its guests have the best possible internet experience, which is why they opted to install the Ruckus solution, where the site is managed from the Walvis Bay office” Kleintjes says.“Ubiquitous, fast and reliable broadband wireless is now one of the main criteria for selecting a hotel in today’s mobile world. However, for many hoteliers, wireless coverage tends to be spotty, performance erratic, and connections unstable,” he said. “The amount of users accessing Wi-Fi concurrently from multiple devices only adds to the list of problems. However, Wi-Fi and mobile connectivity for guests is no longer an amenity, but a must-have requirement, and many hoteliers view wireless connectivity as an essential element to improving guest satisfaction.”Dimension Data is an authorised reseller and installer of US based supplier Ruckus Wireless products.“This was also one of the first wireless sites to deploy wireless 802.11ac technology in Namibia,” Kleintjes said.“This means the system at the Strand Hotel Swakopmund is now four times faster than traditional wireless installations.”STAFF REPORTER
