Standard Bank goes mobile smart

Standard Bank Namibia yesterday joined the ranks of commercial banks offering smart mobile banking services to its clients. The bank yesterday launched its ‘Smart Banking Application’, allowing clients to skip long and cumbersome queues and get their banking done at their own leisure. “With Smart Banking our customers can download the Smart apps free of charge by going to their local Google Play or App Store,” Standard Bank Namibia Head of Personal and Business Banking, Baronice Hans, said. “Not only is this kind of banking convenient, but it is secure and you can do it anytime, anywhere with access to banking at your fingertips.” The banking app among other features, allow users to check their account balance, view the last five transactions made and move money between accounts. Other features include an ATM and branch locator, as well as specialised calculators for determining home loan affordability and repayment progress. “Digital technology moves at a lightning pace and our customers can already look forward to a further upgrade to Smart Banking with the launch of version 2.0 in 2014,” Hans added.
