Standard Bank branch opens at Ongwediva

ONGWEDIVA MERJA IILEKAAs part of its intention to bring services closer to the people, Standard Bank Namibia last week officially opened its Ongwediva branch.Oshana Governor, Clemens Kashuupulwa, said the expansion of Standard Bank at Maroela Mall will improve client service and reduce unnecessary queues.In a speech read by Ongwediva Councillor, Vinia Abisai, Kashuupulwa said that clients of Standard Bank are increasing significantly in his region and are demanding better services and greater attention.He further appealed to all staff working for Standard Bank in the region to ensure good customer service, as this will attract potential clients.As staff of Standard Bank, it is imperative to value your clients in all aspects to attract them to bank in your commercial bank. Sometimes, customers have no information of the benefits and interests on offer at their bank of choice, said Kashuupulwa.He explained that customers have a hard time understanding the information printed on leaflets, due to illiteracy, and urged employees to reach out to their clients' needs.Standard Bank Chief Executive Officer, Mpumzi Pupuma, said customer service remains a top priority at Standard Bank Namibia at was critical in the highly-competitive industry.The bank's new branch, located at Maroela Mall, comprises a spacious banking hall with a consultation area, where banking clients are offered face-to-face service from customer consultants.Other facilities include enquiry and teller sections, as well as an internet banking cubicle and a meeting room for clients.The strategic location of the town of Ongwediva in the Oshana Region definitely paves the way for many business and investment opportunities, not only for residents but also for the development of the region as a whole, said Pupuma.
