Soldier shoots, kills partner

This morning at roughly 10:35 Zya Juliet Shane Rittman, 35 and mother of a three-year-old, was shot and killed by her partner and father of her child. The 39-year-old suspect, a soldier from the Osona military base, shot Rittman in the head with a 9mm Makarov pistol. According to the Namibian police, they were having "unknown relationship problems". The incident occured at Rittman's home in Michaelangelo Street in the so-called Damara location, Katutura. The suspect surrendered himself to the Katutura police after the incident. Investigations continue.
