The 2019 Skorpion Zinc Under-17 Cup is set to take place at the Sam Nujoma Stadium over the weekend.

Regional teams for the prestigious tournament, funded by skorpion Zinc, will converge in Windhoek on Thursday, with the opening ceremony scheduled for 08:00 on Friday.

Kunene, Erongo, Zambezi, Otjozondjupa and Khomas are Group A.

//Karas, Oshana, Omaheke, Hardap and Kavango East are in Group B and Kavango West, Ohangwena, Omusati and Oshikoto in Group C.

The action will kick off at 09:00 as Erongo and Otjozondjupa square off, followed by Zambezi against Kunene.

//Karas will then meet Kavango East, with nine matches in total taking place on Friday.

On Saturday, Oshana and Kavango East will open the action at 08:00, before Omusati and Ohangwena renew their rivalry, as part of the nine games on day two.

Eight games will take place on Sunday to decide who goes through to the semi-finals, and ultimately the final match.

In the semi-finals, the winner of Group A will face the winners of Group C at 09:00, while the second semi-final match will see the Group B winner taking on the best runner-up from groups A or B.

The winner of the semi-final clashes will meet in the final at 14:00.

//Karas are the defending champions after beating Omaheke 3-1 on penalties at Grootfontein in August last year.

Khomas won the maiden edition in Keetmanshoop in 2013 and Omusati collected the trophy in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

The competition did not take place in 2016.
