Simbine in fine form
South Africa's Akani Simbine finished second in the men's 100m in a time of 9.99 seconds at the IAAF World Challenge meeting in Berlin on Sunday.
Canada's Andre de Grasse ran down Akani Simbine in the waning stages to win the men's 100m at the IAAF World Challenge in a season's best time of 9.97 seconds. Simbine ran 9.99, with Jamaica's Tyquendo Tracey coming third in 10.06.
In the women's 100m hurdles, Nigerian Tobi Amusan prevailed in 12.51 over Christina Clemons of the United States, who clocked 12.69.
Kenyan Virginia Nganga's world record in the rarely run women's 2000m steeplechase was smashed by German Gesa Felicitas Krause.
Krause clocked 5:52.80, smashing the 6:02.16 set by Nganga at the same meeting four years ago.
