Shindele shaKalavi and the 'Rent-A-Darkie' phenomenon

At the time of writing I am in Durban on academic mission at University of Kwazulu Natal. One day while admiring the green scenery of Durban, a South African national ,Tulelo, came to talk to me after gathering that we are of similar scholarly orientation. While Namibian youth are frightened of discourse on account of the wrath of the powerful, for South African youth no topic or individual is immune against critical analysis and scrutiny. “Why hasn’t black exploitation stopped since it began more than 500 years ago?” queried Tulelo. My dear brother, I began orientating him, it could’ve stopped but Shindele shaKalavi and rented darkies didn’t/don’t want it stopped. I gave him the case of Jewish people – an ethno-religious group originating historically from the Israelites – whose nation state is the present-day state of Israel. Although Jews are less than 0.2% of world population, they wield disproportionate power compared to any other ethno-religious group on earth. They have scooped the majority of Nobel Prizes awarded to date. For decades, Israel has violated international law, defied many resolutions of the United Nations, and continues unabated with extra-judicial killings and numerous acts of military aggression. The Jewish state of Israel gets what it wants, when it wants. Writing in Personality and Individual Di?erences journal in 2008, Lynn and Kanazawa write that at one point in Austria Jews were “approximately 3.5% of the population but were 27.3% of university professors. In Germany between 1918 and 1933 Jews were 0.78% of the population but were 16% of the doctors, 15% of the dentists, 25% of the lawyers and occupied 80% of leading positions in the Berlin Stock exchange. In Poland in 1931 Jews were 10.2% of the population but were 56% of the doctors in private practice, 33% of lawyers, and 24% of the pharmacists…By the 1990s Jews were hugely over-represented among the very wealthy, when they comprised more than a quarter of the people on the Forbes Magazine list of the richest 400 Americans, 45% of the top 40 richest Americans, and one-third of all American multimillionaires.” While there can many reasons for Jews’ economic clout, two can be identified; firstly, Jews have knowledge-of-self to an extent that any Jewish child born anywhere is recorded in a book in Israel, we understand. Secondly, Jews have confidence-of-self; you will hardly find a Jew mimicking other groups or operating against his own kind. Even cattle herders know that black people suffered (are suffering) devastatingly from white brutality; to understand white brutality you simply have to dialogue with a former contract labourer after a sufficient supply of liquor. So brutal were whites that Aawambo introduced names for them in the Oshiwambo lexicon such as ‘shilumbu’ ‘aatiligane’ ‘kanekoto’ or ‘Shindele shaKalavi’. Notice two things characterising White Supremacy; firstly they eliminated black people’s knowledge-of-self by labelling black education, language, culture, food etc as barbaric and backward. Most children of black leaders do not speak, read or write their mother language. They are sent to schools that don’t teach black languages. They hate traditional food and do not consume traditional brew. In some parts, it has apparently become black culture to drink tea/coffee anytime - even when it is hot as 35 degrees Celsius. Secondly, they eradicated blacks’ confidence-of-self. Black children hate their African names; they choose white names for themselves. Children are not alone; their parents and leaders also lack the knowledge and confidence-of-self. Shindele shaKalavi’s modus operandi in post-independence Namibia isn’t difficult to understand. Like the Jews, Shindele shaKalavi constitute less than 10% of the population but control more than 90% of the economy. In public discourse, Shindele shaKalavi isn’t concerned with topics like unemployment, HIV/Aids, rural development or poverty but when radical land and mining policy is proposed then we will see that kanekoto is in the house. Shindele shaKalavi socialises in exclusive zones, eats no black food and speaks no black language. Disturbing is the ‘Rent–A-Darkie’ phenomenon, understood as a state of affairs where Shindele shaKalavi cunningly secures blacks to operate on his behalf for his benefit, with the leftovers (the bones) given to the recruited black. The recruited black is to spend his leftover money only on clothes, cars, women and alcohol. When he develops ambitions of serious economic activities, he is dismissed and replaced with another darkie. As the cycle continues, Shindele shaKalavi continues to derive maximum economic benefits while many blacks are shitting in buckets, living in permanent aroma of faeces.
