Seven junior teams gear up
Cricket Namibia (CN) has announced seven junior teams that will travel to South Africa in December to participate in various development tournaments.
The Under-13 A and C teams will be the first in action when they both leave for the Feedem Pitseng U-13 Provincial tournament in Worcester on December 4. The A squad will be coached by Dickson Vambe, while Lauritz Haccou will be at the helm of the C team.
Their B team, on the other hand, will be touring to Bloemfontein to take part in the CSA U-13 provincial B festival under the guidance of Coach Mika Mutumbe. They will leave for the Free State on December 9.
Bloemfontein will also play host to Namibia’s U-11 team at the CSA U-11 provincial B festival.
They too will leave on December 9 with Zee Mlalazi taking over the coaching duties.
In other action the U-15/A team will be touring to East London to participate in the annual CSA U-15 Cricket week (formerly known as PG Bison).
Coach Fortune Matawu and his players will take to the road on December 8.
The U-15/B squad is looking forward to tour Cape Town with Pieter van Niekerk as coach.
They will depart on December 10.
Meanwhile, the U-19’s are set to gain valuable experience ahead of their World Cup campaign when the team of coach Norbert Manyande takes on some of the best South Africa has to offer at the Coke week in Port Elizabeth. The tournament is scheduled to take place from December 16 to
20.
