Sally Boss Madam, King Tee Dee earn AFRIMMA 2020 nominations

The African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMAs) last week revealed the nominees for 2020, featuring Namibia’s very own Sally Boss Madam and King Tee Dee in the best female southern Africa and best male southern Africa categories respectively.
Sally Boss Madam will battle it out against Shasha, Sho Madjozi, Ammara Brown, Busiswa, Shashl, Ami Faku, Azana, Gemma Griffiths and Elaine.
Meanwhile, King Tee Dee will go toe to toe with Black Coffee, Slap Dee, Cassper Nyovest, Master KG, Jah Prayzah, Vee Mampeezy, Shyn, Tshego and Yanga Chief.
The 2020 edition of the awards show also sees Nigeria’s Burna Boy leading with eight nominations, including the artist of the year honour.
Tough competition
Taking to social media to announce his nomination, King Tee Dee shared: “This list is way too tough, but at least I see Namibia’s name on there and that will make them go Google and want to find out what Namibia is.
“Congratulations to Namibia for being on the list – that is a big achievement.”
Meanwhile, Sally Boss Madam said she’s thrilled to once again represent Namibia at the AFRIMMAs.
“Here we go again family, AFRIMMA 2020 nominated. Waving our flag high,” she tweeted.
According to AFRIMMA website, the award show is the only one of its kind, celebrating music of African origin including but not limited to Afrobeats, assiko, bongo, decale, funana, genge, highlife, kwaito, lingala and soukous.
