Rundu hospital for emergencies, referrals only
First-visit patients will be redirected to Rundu Clinic or another healthcare facility, a communique read.

Rundu residents have since Friday had to turn to clinics for healthcare assistance following a decision by Rundu State Hospital management to only deal with emergencies and referrals from clinics due to the Covid-19 situation.
This is according to the hospital’s medical superintendent Joseph Mukerenge, who on Friday issued a communique informing the public about the decision to adjust the Out Patient Department (OPD) in order for the hospital to manage resources and use them effectively on ill patients.
“The changes are necessary for us to streamline and effectively use resources on managing ill patients in the hospital.
“Rundu hospital will only attend to emergencies, referrals from clinics/district hospitals and patients in for doctor reviews. All first visits seeking treatment at our facility will be redirected to Rundu Clinic or any other health facility of their choice,” he said.
