Windsurfer Bjorn Dunkerbeck's is currently in Lüderitz for the annual Speed Challenge and to chase for a world record.
This is top windsurfer Dunkerbeck's sixth time in Lüderitz in order to chase his personal best and another attempt to break the outright world record, which is currently held by French windsurfer Antoine Albeau (53.27 knots).
World champion Dunkerbeck, who is a Red Bull athlete from Gran Canaria, one of Spain's Canary Islands, has been in the windsurfing game for a long time and his best time so far is 51.09 knots, or 98.53 km/h.
“The wind for the next few days looks promising to achieve a top speed above 100km/h,” he said.
