In short, our company offers the market place a full spectrum of publishing,” Hasheela-Mufeti says. Microwide Publishing Press aims to make a creative difference for their clients, shareholders and their community.Microwide Publishing Press employs three people at the moment, but they also have editors and graphic designers who work independently and are paid based on the projects that they work on.“We are not quite yet there to employ these on a fulltime basis. But so far it has been working well.” With their company culture, they do not care how many hours they work. They can keep going until 02:00 if that is what it takes to deliver the customer’s book on time. It is a home-based company, therefore they can ensure that customers get their books on time. “It is also our priority to ensure that our customers are not disappointed, and if anything goes wrong since the machine errors are unavoidable, we give a discount,” Hasheela-Mufeti says.In the next three years, Microwide Publishing Press hopes to be a well-known publisher, publishing school books, as well as making dreams come true for as many authors as possible. They also hope to have acquired more powerful machinery than what they have now. “Currently we operate a workshop at home, and while we do not plan to change that for the few next years because it allows us to work until whatever time we feel, we expect to have a much bigger space, in order to be able to accommodate all the equipment and materials.”They measure their success by customer satisfaction and on-time delivery. When a customer is happy and delighted, that makes the Microwide Publishing Press a more satisfying business to work for.They have an annual competition that started last year, where they invite aspiring writers to enter a competition and then publish a number of books freely for the winners: 20 books for the winner, ten books for the runner-up and five books for third place. “This is indeed very fulfilling, knowing that you have made an author’s dream come true.
