JESSE JACKSON KAURAISA WINDHOEK With his stalky structure and blistering pace, Peter Shalulile has become one of the Premier Soccer League's most potent strikers, while fellow countryman Deon Hotto has also earned bragging rights after signing a deal with Orlando Pirates.Brave Warriors defender Ananias Gebhardt also played a pivotal role in the survival of his club, Baroka FC.Maximilian Mbaeva of Golden Arrows has another season to look forward to in the PSL following yet another league campaign in which his club protected their premiership status.Hotto has been impressive all season and high-profile giants Orlando Pirates came knocking at his door for a big money contract.All in all, the Namibians say they are happy with how their seasons ended, although Mbaeva would have loved his club to have finished in the top eight. The player ended the season as joint top-scorer with Orlando Pirates' Hellings 'Gabadinho' Mhango as both players finished the season on 16 goals each.“I am very pleased with myself at the moment because finishing on top of the goal charts in a league blessed with talent is an amazing thing for me.“It has been all about hard work from the onset and keeping myself as fit as I can be.“As a player, I am willing to work harder next season and to continue improving on my goal scoring,” Shalulile said. The player's form during the season has also attracted league champions Mamelodi Sundowns and there are high possibilities of him inking a deal with the club. Hotto says goodbye to Wits Hotto, who is on his way to join the 'Buccaneers', said the last few games for Wits were emotional.The player is now looking forward to his new journey after inking a deal with the South African giants.“It is always an emotional thing to say goodbye to a place you made your home and I was happy here at Wits.“Commitment and consistency have been key throughout the season and that is why I am making this move.“I want to say thank you to the club members and players for always being there for me. It is hard to say goodbye, but I have to move on,” Hotto said. Mbaeva disappointed, but proud Former Brave Warriors number one Mbaeva's Golden Arrows finished 12th on the table.The keeper, who had hoped his team would be part of the top-eight challenge next season, expressed disappointment. “I did not play many games this season, but we all still have a role to play in a club, even if we do not get game time.“Encouraging the junior players and helping them succeed was but one of the roles and I am proud of.“Yes, we survived another season, but it was bad that we could not finished higher in the league. “We hope for a better next season,” Mbaeva said. Chiefs pipped to post The PSL saw a dramatic end at the weekend, as Mamelodi Sundowns pipped Kaizer Chiefs to the post by winning the league title on the final day.
