Premiere: BnT Music drops music video for ‘Dead President’

After making some noise with their 2019 radio smash Adrenaline, Dead President is the new, hot single from Namibian duo BnT Music.
Released on Friday, 20 March, the video complements the song’s content very well. Directed by X-Pro Videos, Dead President highlights the social and economic disparity in Namibia.
“It’s based on true scenarios in our country where the resources of the country are selfishly benefiting only those in power. The majority of citizens live in poverty and inhuman conditions while the government preaches ‘One Namibia, One Nation’, yet only the elites reap from the resources. We hope to see change in the country, especially for the youth,” said duo.
Paying homage
In the video, the pair also honour political fallen heroes and what they stood for. Having been around the music scene since 2014, it is good to see the pair exploring different avenues as far as lyrical content is concerned.
The video opens with a short clip of Nelson Mandela, an anti-apartheid revolutionary who served as president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
On why this new song is sonically different from their previous offerings, BnT Music’s manager Dazzle Skrywer said it part of their strategy, adding that Adrenaline was released during the holiday season because it’s funky and up-tempo. “The single will be part of their forthcoming body of work and there is still more to come. Watch this space,” said Skrywer.
As of Tuesday morning, the video had 1 213 views on YouTube.
