The Otjomuise Soccer League will host a Christmas Soccer Tournament on 12 and 13 December at the John Ya Otto Soccer Field in Windhoek’s Wanaheda location.
The tournament, which is open to all teams, is aimed at getting players ready for the envisaged league kick-off early next year, Otjomuise Soccer League chairperson Nelson Shipandeni said.
“Through hosting these tournaments, we aim to keep the players fit and ready for the league kick-off. This tournament is, however, open to any team that wants to participate,” he said.
The team registration fee is N$500, with the winner walking away with N$6 000, a trophy and 20 gold medals. Meanwhile, the runner-up will receive N$3 500 and 20 silver medals, and the semi-final losers will each receive N$1 500 for their efforts.
The draw will be conducted on 11 December at a venue yet to be announced.
Unregistered teams will not be allowed into the draw.
Shipandeni said all Covid-19 regulations will be adhered to and that no person will be allowed into the venue without a mask.
