One Africa TV partners with NMH

Distributed through Namibia Media Holdings' (NMH) youth brand, My Zone, the newly added grade zero to seven lessons form part of a collaboration with the ministry of education, arts and culture and the United Nations International Children's Fund (Unicef).The wholly Namibian curriculum is supplied in an audio-visual medium, with a live teacher and child present for every lesson – and this collaboration has allowed #LearnOnOne to expand its initial offering.The newly launched #LearnOnOne MyZone Grade 0 - 7 lessons air Mondays to Fridays from 09h00 until 11h30, with an afternoon repeat from 13h30 to 16h30.The daily broadcasts include lessons across Maths, Science and English.“This collaboration forms part of the My Zone school programme, where we aim to strengthen the education of the youth in Namibia. We do this by providing educational content to the youth through the use of multiple platforms which include print, online media and now through television broadcast media, thanks to One Africa TV,” said NMH chief marketing officer, Hennie Geldenhuys.Catering to all learnersTaleni Shimhopileni, One Africa TV content manager and sourcing editor, said: “Our goal is to expand our subject scope and grade material to cater to all learners – from junior primary to senior secondary – and NMH has helped us make this possible! “We are a proud broadcast partner to NMH's great effort and our mutual goal to make quality education accessible to every Namibian learner is made fully evident in bringing Namibian grade zero to seven learning content available to Namibians via their television sets.”She further said One Africa TV's #LearnOnOne initiative helps change the narrative of Namibian learners' difficulty in accessing quality teaching, both in and out of the Covid-19 lockdown realities. Quality education at homeLearners are able to learn from highly skilled teachers in the security of their homes on an easily accessible television platform, and at minimal cost.
