Ondombeyohumba wins Outapi Build It tournament
Ondombeyohumba Combined School from Onamanape village in the Omusati Region won the first Outapi Build It under-13 football competition on Saturday.
They handed their counterparts from Sakeus Ihuhwa Primary School at Nakayale near Outapi a 1-0 defeat in the tournament's final encounter.
As the inaugural champions, the Ondombeyohumba boys scooped the top prize of a trophy, brand new football kits and trophies for all 16 players. Ondombeyohumba was also declared the best-behaved team of the tournament and will receive a Build It donation of paint for the school.
The school in addition produced the best player of the tournament, Salmon Valombola, who was their team captain.
The Sakeus Ihuhwa PS boys, as the runners-up, took home 16 sports bags and 16 trophies.
“The competition went well, we had a good turnout. Build It is going to sponsor the tournament every year,” Emily Kandjaba from Build It Outapi said at the prize-giving ceremony.
She informed Nampa that 11 of the 16 teams that registered for the tournament participated.
Build It Outapi sponsored the tournament to the tune of N$75 000. It was played on a round-robin basis.
