NWR rewards top managers

Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) recognised its top-performing managers for the past four months at its quarterly management retreat held at Khorixas last week. As a means of motivating managers who have excelled in their respective departments and resorts, NWR saw it fit to reward them with a weekend for two at any one of its resorts and a cash prize. Zelna Hengari, NWR’s Managing Director, found it necessary for the company to recognise those managers who have performed exceptionally well over the past four months since the last retreat in January 2015. “As a company that is geared towards achieving profitability, I find it important that we continuously motivate those managers that are working hard to achieve the company’s objectives. These efforts are also aimed at encouraging those that might not be performing well to realise that through hard-work they too can be rewarded," said Hengari. Halali’s acting resort manager, Elly Nuule, received the award for the Most Improved Resort as expenses were drastically reduced at Halali. Also Okaukuejo’s acting resort manager, Emenius Kasume, received the award on behalf of Katrina Hoeses, Okaukuejo’s manager, for being the Best Performing Resort. Okaukuejo generated the most revenue over the past four months. Fransiska Nghitila, NWR’s Environmental and Compliance Specialist, along with Mufaro Nesongano, NWR’s Corporate Communications Manager, shared the award for Best Performing Head of Department. Francois Snyders, Waterberg’s manager, won the Managing Director’s Award for his hard work in the different areas he has been spearheading over the past months, such as Desert Knights. NWR’s Deputy Chairman Evans Simataa encouraged managers to continuously work hard and forge together in order to achieve the targets set out in the company’s Break Through Strategy. He further stated that the company had done well under the leadership of Hengari and that she must be commended for her hard work. Digu //Noabeb, Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) Chief Executive Officer, gave a motivational speech at the end of the retreat. WINDHOEK STAFF REPORTER
