NPFL, netball league produce great results

The Namibia Premier Football League action has come to a halt for the month of June due to the increase in Covid-19 cases, however, the weekend’s matches produced exciting results.
On Saturday, in round one of the golden league matches, Mighty Gunners drew 0-all against Orlando Pirates at the Keetmanshoop Show Grounds Stadium, while Tigers beat Young Brazilians 4-2 at the same venue.
In the silver league at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, Civics lost 1-0 to Black Africa, with Blue Waters also losing 3-1 to Tura Magic.
In round two of the matches yesterday in the golden league category, Young Brazilians defeated Mighty Gunners 2-1 at the Keetmanshoop Show Grounds Stadium.
Blue Waters fell 2-1 to Black Africa at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in the silver category. Tigers was set to face Pirates at the Keetmanshoop Show Grounds Stadium and Magic was to play Civics at the Sam Nujoma Stadium before going to print.
Netball action
Action also continued in the MTC Netball Namibia Premier League with Golden Girls beating United-12 44-25, Mighty Gunners also defeated Rebels 49-43, while Young Stars suffered a 51-46 defeat at the hands of Eleven Arrows.
Nam Correctional Services (NCS) also proved much stronger against Dollar Stars, defeating them 59-26. Grootfontein and Rundu Chiefs match ended 37-24 in Grootfontein’s favour.
After the matches, Tigers continued to lead the log with 12 pints, followed in second by NCS with 10 points. In third is Mighty Gunners with eight points.
Rundu is at the bottom of the log, having won no matches so far.
