No money to host Caf Women's League – Gertze

Bids to host the inaugural Total Confederation of African Football (Caf) Women's Champions League 2021 are open, but Namibia will not be throwing in their name, according to Jacky Gertze from the Women's Football Department.
Gertze said the championship needs government backing and the latter complains of not having money.
Namibia will be sending Tura Magic Club, the 2019 Women Super League and 2021 Women Super Cup winners, to the newly established Women's Champions League qualifiers. There has been no official statement, but Magic will be taking part in the Champions League qualifiers because they won the 2019 Women Super League. Seven teams will qualify for the final tournament through qualifiers organised by the zonal unions, in addition to the champion club from the host country who gains automatic qualification.
The Women's Champions League competition will be organised during October, November or December each year as per resolution of the Caf executive committee.
Local football pundit Isack Hamata said that Namibia has successfully hosted the Women's Cosafa Championship and the African Women's Championship. However, the challenge will be the funding this time around.
National football associations are requested to submit their bidding files listing the stadiums (two stadiums are required), training facilities (at least four training sites) and accommodation plans for the eight teams, in addition to the official government guarantee. The closing date is 31 March 2021.
