Newcomer Shadaloo wins KMC Rehoboth July

The KMC Rehoboth July race over 2200 metres saw newcomer Shadaloo of Alberts Stables showing other horses a clean pair of heels in the annual competition hosted by the Naris Turf Club.
Shadaloo hails from Keetmanshoop and beat eight horses to claim victory in the competitive race, which was held last Saturday.
The total prize money of N$25 000 awarded to the winner is the most offered for a single horse race in Namibia.
In total, prize money of N$60 000 was dished out for the eight races that took place on the day.
Shadaloo’s victory was remarkable as Waterways of Niekie Angermund and Castle Rock of Eamon Freygang were leading at the 400m mark.
At that point, Shadaloo started making his move and there was no stopping the horse from outsprinting the rest.
Bernard Kaanjuka’s Ill Tanga surprised by finishing second ahead of Waterways (third) and Boogy Boy (fourth).
The rest of the places were occupied by Castle Rock, Papkan, Back to Bowler and the favourite, Paddy, who came last.
In the Graduation 1000m category, Atrums owned by Arkell and Timo Mujeu’s Professor were both awarded first place with Happy Dream getting third spot.
