New home loans head at FNB
FNB Namibia yesterday announced the appointment of a new head of department in its home loans section, in former OUTsurance Namibia CEO Brian Katjaerua.
Katjaerua started his career with the Ministry of Justice, joining the office of the Prosecutor-General as a public prosecutor between 1998 and 1999.
He then moved on to the University of Namibia as a law lecturer between the years 2000 and 2005, spending another year lecturing at the University of Stellenbosch.
In 2011 he was appointed by the FNB Group as CEO of OUTsurance Namibia, a position he held until his current promotion to head of home loans at FNB Namibia.
Katjaerua’s qualifications include an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch, an LLM degree in Mercantile Law from the University of Stellenbosch, an LLM in Economic Law from the University of Namibia (Unam), and an LLB and BJURIS, also from Unam.
Commenting on his new position at FNB Namibia, Katjaerua said it would entail housing as many Namibians as possible “by providing innovative product offerings that meet customers’ expectations" .
“My focus right now is providing exceptional service to our customers and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, and the rest usually naturally follows,” he said.
“I am keen to hear more about customers’ experiences with us, as this gives us clear guidance on how we are doing currently, and where we can improve. We would also appreciate innovative suggestions from our customers, as this would enable us to better understand your needs, develop more tailor-made products, and serve you better,” Katjaerua said.
