Nesa tourney postponed

Jesse Jackson Kauraisa WINDHOEKThe Namibian Electronic Sports Association (Nesa) has announced the postponement of its tournament, which was set for early June. The online Defence of the Ancients 2 (DotA2) tournament will now take place on 21 June.“We would like to inform our members that we have moved the tournament to a later date. “The registrations now close on 17 June at 17:00 and the tournament itself starts on 21 June.“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the postponement,” Salomé de Bruyn of Nesa said.Registration is available on the Nesa website, esportsnamibia.org, and interested teams are requested to ensure that all members are registered and paid for.Entry fees are N$50 for Nesa members, and N$100 for non-members. Cash prizes will be up for grabs, while Namibian players will be evaluated for possible selection for the Namibian Esports Team. Develop Namibian gamingNesa has made efforts to secure opportunities for Namibian e-sports athletes to compete internationally and develop professional gaming within the country, De Bruyn added.Last year, the association sent gamers to participate in the IESF E-Sports World Championship. Nesa has been sending gamers to championships of this nature since 2017.
