NBL launches Tafel Lite
Local beer lovers have a new choice in the market after Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) this weekend launched its latest creation, Tafel Lite.
NBL managing director Wessie van der Westhuizen and national marketing manager Rosemary Shippiki introduced the new brand on Sunday, describing it as having a fresh, crisp taste, and at 27% less carbohydrates than its mother brand, Tafel Lager.
“We are extremely excited to introduce this latest innovation to our brand portfolio,” Shippiki said, adding that the new beer remains faithful to the 1516 German Beer Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot), which this year celebrated its 500th anniversary.
Van der Westhuizen expressed pride in the introduction of the new brand, which he said would boost NBL’s brand portfolio to new heights.
“NBL is fully committed and passionate about the O&L Group purpose of creating a future, enhancing life for all Namibians,” Van der Westhuizen said.
“I believe that through breakthrough thinking and relentless innovation we can achieve this vision together. I am particularly proud of this new addition as it manifests our commitment to our valued consumers, customers and stakeholders as well as the country at large by stimulating business performance and in so doing contributing to the overall economic growth of Namibia.”
While sharing their enthusiasm over the new product, both executives stressed the importance of responsible drinking.
“While we are excited about this new innovation that is a proudly Namibian product brewed by a proudly Namibian company, I would like to remind us all of the responsibility that comes with the choice of consumption of any alcoholic beverage,” Shippiki said.
“Stay cool and enjoy responsibility.”
